Featuring keynote speakers: Faith & Blue, Put the Neighbor Back in the Hood, HCSO Sergeant Williams and C-Pop Team (HCSO Deputies: Powell, Guidry, and Morticon), Pastor EA Decker from GHIC , Steven Williams, Dr. Carla L. Wyatt, Mamou, Joseph Clark and the Chess Club from the FWICHD, Imam Qasim Khan, and Imam Marvin and Imam Talib Haywood from MTM. 

On October 11th, the 5th Ward Islamic Center for Human Development (FWICHD) hosted a powerful event to discuss the pressing issue of police brutality. Halal House founder Joseph Clark led the event, which brought together a diverse group of keynote speakers to address this important topic.

The event was held at the FWICHD, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located at 5303 Lyons Ave, Houston, TX 77020, and featured an array of distinguished guests, including Faith & Blue, Put the Neighbor Back in the Hood, Sergeant Williams and the C-Pop Team from the Harris County Sheriff's Office, Pastor EA Decker from Green House International Church, Steven Williams, Dr. Carla L. Wyatt, Mamou the best Chef, Joseph Clark and the Chess Club from the FWICHD, Imam Qasim Khan, Imam Marvin and Imam Talib Haywood from MTM, and Salaam Reentry Program founder Aijaz Ahmed.

Participants enjoyed a delicious chicken dinner while engaging in thought-provoking discussions on police brutality and its impact on communities. The event was a valuable opportunity for attendees to learn, connect, and contribute to meaningful solutions to this pressing issue. The 5th Ward Islamic Center for Human Development is proud to have brought together such a dynamic group of leaders to tackle this critical issue and contribute to creating a safer and more just society for all.
